Cancer Journey Coaching:

A grounded place to return to yourself

Cancer can make you feel disconnected from your voice, your agency, and the parts of yourself that once felt solid. My work is about helping you return to your strengths, your values, and the inner wisdom that still lives in you — even in the presence of fear, uncertainty, and mortality questions.

Hi, I’m Barbara

I remember the day I walked out of my last treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was relieved - and lost. Later, surviving breast cancer, and now living with a newly diagnosed metastatic breast cancer, I continue to be reshaped in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Through all of it, I learned that agency isn’t about controlling what happens. It’s about choosing how you meet your life.

The Wise Old Crone is my north star - the part of me that is strong, irreverent, deeply wise, and unwilling to abandon herself. She is the compass I use to measure my own presence and truth. She guides how I show up with others: thoughtful, compassionate, curious, and grounded.

My background in Somatic Psychology helps you reconnect with your own inner wisdom and agency. My experience in finance helps you feel steady in the practical realities of life transitions. Both matter. Both are part of the journey.

This work is a place where all of you is welcome - without judgement, without needing to perform, without needing to take care of anyone else.

I’m here for the full range - the tenderness, the ache, the beauty, and the unmistakable presence of mortality, because being human is not tidy, and the truth of your life deserves room to be felt.

What this Work Offers

Cancer reshapes everything - your identity, your relationships, your capacity, and the way you move through the world. It can feel like life is happening to you, not with you.

My coaching helps reconnect you with:

Your Strengths: The ones that have carried you through every hard season, even if they now feel inaccessible.

Your Values: The quiet truths that shape how you want to show up, even when life feels out of control.

Your Inner Wisdom: The part of you that knows what matters, what you need, and who you are becoming.

Your Agency: Not in the sense of controlling everything - but in choosing how you meet what’s here.

This work is not about fixing you. It’s about helping you hear yourself again, in the midst of fear, doubt, and uncertainty.

Who I Support

  • Individuals in treatment

  • Partners and spouses

  • Adult children supporting a parent

  • Caregivers navigating burnout

  • People in remission adjusting to “after”

  • Families preparing for major decisions

Every journey is different. Your support should be, too.

How Sessions Work

Sessions are spacious, grounded, and shaped around what you need that day. We move at your pace - not the pace of the medical system or the expectations of others.

You can bring anything into the room: fear, grief, logistics, identity questions, exhaustion, anger, or the quiet things you don’t say out loud. Nothing is too much. Nothing is “wrong”.

Together, we listen for the part of you that still knows something true - even if it’s faint. That’s where agency begins.
